Bank History

It all started with a man named W.H. Powell and a board of directors who shared the dream of building a community bank to serve the people of our hometown.
On June 16,1986 this dream became a reality with the opening of Peoples National Bank of Niceville. PNB was opened in a small trailer that was right next door to the building it is currently located in. This trailer housed 15 employees and a bank with only 2 million dollars in capital.

Now the bank has 140 million dollars in assets. The Niceville Branch has now grown into a three story building that has approximately 50 employees. The Freeport office was opened January 18, 2001, and our newest branch in DeFuniak Springs opened October 5, 2004. All three branches serve our customers with hometown values and friendly service.

PNB Continues to grow every day, but never forgetting the humble roots in which it started.

In order to better serve our customers, Peoples National Bank has opened a new, Full-service Branch in DeFuniak Springs. This branch provides all the services that the main branch is currently providing, but at a convenient location to serve you.
